Antonio Vitalone

Yeah you can't hold a "non-binding" primary and then go and retroactively make it count. Same situation as 2008 when J. J. and Hillary Is 44 were arguing to seat the delegates in Florida and Michigan as elected, Michigan being the more absurd of those two. In this case it'd be even more absurd since there's no standard for how delegates would be assigned, so deciding on a delegate allocation method would also be blatantly beneficial toward a certain candidate.

I think the whole reason Missouri had the non-binding primary is it was already scheduled there but would violate RNC rules and be subject to sanctions. So there was an attempt to have it moved forward, but the GOP-controlled State House and State Senate deadlocked, weren't able to meet the deadline, and the caucus had to be set up instead to assign delegates. So basically blame Republicans' inability to govern for this.

It's very interesting to wonder about what would've happened had the south won the Civil War. I think slavery would've ended in another 20 years, but their social and econonomical ideals would differ from the north still. One thing I've wondered is would they have gotten involved in WWI or WWII sooner? The British could've helped sure, but l still don't see the south cooperating too much with their demands.

If the Confederacy gets a moderate as president, possibly Lee, you could see gradual emancipation in the late 1800's. They would have certainly tried to grab what they could in the Caribbean and northern Mexico, allying with Britain and/or France against the US, which might have sided with Russia or Germany. Alternative, one or both of the USA/CSA could have gone into isolationism (more likely the USA, though they'd still try to get what they could in the Pacific)

So he supported his country stopping communism? I don't agree with the draft but there is no reason to name call. This is the left name calling when they are panicking. Have you looked into Obama's college years where he supported professor Derrick Bell? Or are you being bias?

Everyone knows he honored a well-respected college dean like Derrick Bell.  Does anyone who's not Andrew Breitbart care, however?  No.  Supporting the Vietnam War is bad enough, but supporting the draft to the point of protesting in favor of it while you're out dodging it goes beyond words.

This post is my least favorite because you're so obviously wasting your time.

One of the worst people to have ever lived. And that's without exaggerating too much.

Least favorite:

Today the Chamber of Representatives approved a number of changes to the constitution by a 'comfortable' 103-39 margin. The 6 government parties (PS,SP.a,CD&V,cdH,MR,VLD) were joined by the green parties (Ecolo, Groen!) on the Yes-side. The No-side was made up out of N-VA, LDD, VB and FDF.

This is the first step in the Institutional Reform that was at the centre of the 2007-2011 crisis, and it was achieved by some clever scheming and rule-bending on the government side. Especially contested was the government's temporarily de-activating of the clausule of the constitution (Article 195) that determines that the only way to change an article of the constitution is to have it had listed by the previous parliament. Now, the opposition (N-VA, that is) don't mind the government getting rid of that particular article, but the way they only temporarily put it out of play means a hypothetical future N-VA-led government would not be able to directly touch the constitution. (Unless, of course, the current parliament would kindly list Article 195 for revision once more, which it won't do)

The government dodged, to be very cynical, a makor bullet today. With the national news cycle being dominated as it is by Tuesday's tragic bus crash, the opposition didn't dare to start an offensive and the debate was remarkably quiet. To be absolutely fair, they should have rescheduled the vote.

Honestly, the past week has been one big mess on all counts with at least 4 major stories making sure the papers and television didn't know where to look. We had a firebombing on a Shiite Mosque in Anderlecht (Brussels) leaving an imam dead, directly followed by a 'suicide attack' on the Qatari ambassador's caravan outside of the Royal Palace. Then that crazy Bus crash, and now this (though this is in a different ball park, obviously).

(tl;dr)

PP often provides financial assistance for abortion. And their infrastructure is funded through the government, which they use in providing and referring abortions.  Their basic mission is in the name, and its not breast cancer screening. There's no reason breast cancer screenings can be provided by an organization with a more appropriate mission. Whether PP's human butchery is legal or not is irrelevant.

FALSE

3% of the services provided by Planned Parenthood are abortions, 3%.  NONE of the government $$$ goes to abortions.  These are the facts and its shown in the financials.  I know Fox News and the talking heads in the GOP (often one in the same) try to get you to believe otherwise, but its false.

Probably been listening to Jon Kyl too much.

Planned Parenthood, as well-informed people know, is strictly a women's healthcare provider that works in multiple fields.  This page has a good overview of it.  The reason why it is discriminated against so much and treated differently than any other healthcare provider is beyond me.

I support making women see ultrasounds to try and guilt them out of having abortions. [...]  And yes, I would support defunding Planned Parenthood from other services as well because they are our nation's largest abortion provider and anything that hurts them is likely to make abortions more difficult to obtain.

[...]

As abortion is increasingly forced under the radar and into back alleys, begin upping the sentences and charging the women and doctors with murder.

You're certainly posting in the appropriate thread, I must say.

Least favorite (by default) :

American The Office is better than the British version (or at least it was at its height; it's pretty mediocre by this point in its run).

That's why British TV shows have the right idea by limiting themselves to two or three (super short) seasons.

One of my favorite shows was Father Ted.  I shudder to think of such a thing, but how would it even translate to the US?  They'd have to be located on an island off Newfoundland or somewhere.  The humor just wouldn't work though.

Another favorite was Red Dwarf.  Thankfully, the US pilot was awful enough to not get picked up.
