Americans Elect ballot acces and Ron Paul

So Paul's the most popular candidate on Americans Elect. Regardless of your opinion of Americans Elect, they will choose a candidate, and he will be on the ballot across the country.
As of now they have ballot access in:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming.
I still am unsure whether Ron Paul is likely to take more from Romney or Obama, or if he's likely to be a wash, motivating people who wouldn't otherwise vote and taking evenly from D and R.
But it seems ever more likely that Ron Paul will be on the Americans Elect ticket in many important states.

Israel and the United States "killing dozens of civilians with explosives", as you phrase it, has, throughout history, almost always been a good thing.

Is Ron Paul going to be on the ballot whether he likes it or not? How did he end up on the Montana 2008 ballot?

Are you supposing he doesn't like being on the ballot?

I'm suggesting that he might not have a say in it. I also don't think he wants to be on the ballot, but wouldn't mind.

Ron Paul has not declared that he wants AE's nomination. Before the final online convention vote, he would have to do so, as well as choose a running mate who is not a Republican. So yes, he does have a say in it. AE is not going to put an unwilling candidate on the ballot.
That being said, this nomination appears to be Ron Paul's, if he will take it. Otherwise, it will go to Buddy Roemer, who is in fact actively seeking it.

The convention is in June.
The website is currently proclaiming: "47 days left until Caucus Round 1"- which I guess puts that at May 7.

Before. In June, I believe.
And we need some brave souls to sign up to participate as delegates and then report back.

I don't think Ron Paul will be the Americans Elect nominee. I contend that it'll be Buddy Roemer.

I dont think either Paul or Roemer will be the nominee. Roemers campaign is Bob Smith 2000 all over again. Huntsman, Sanders, Bloomberg, and Johnson all have stronger support. If Johnson declares for the nomination (and he might) he could win it handily, take on Roemer as his AE running mate, and someone else as his Libertarian running mate. Oddly enough, if he does, by a miracle, win, then he is going to have the choice of one of his two running mates becoming VP, which could lead to a Constitutional crisis.
Keep in mind, Rocky Anderson is also seeking the nomination, and is in talks with the Green Party for their nomination as well.

Doesn't AE state that if they nominate, say, a Republican, that said Republican would have to pick a Democrat as his/her VP?

But if Johnson is a Libertarian, then he can pick a Republican as his running mate. Johnson/Roemer 2012?

I don't think so. Johnson will be considered to be a Republican by AE's rules, in that he was at one time a candidate for the 2012 Republican nomination. He cannot choose a Republican as his running mate.

In Montana and Louisiana, the candidate for president doesn't actually sign any papers to be on the ballot. The CP of Montana, which was (and may still be - I no longer keep up) disaffiliated with the Nation CP. So they placed Paul and 2004 CP candidate Mike Peroutka on the ballot in place of Baldwin / Castle. In Louisiana, a group of his supporters, some of whom I know, simply registered a slate of electors and listed Paul and Goldwater Jr. as candidates.

Paul has previously said he doesn't want to run as a third party candidate. I don't see him wanting to be on the ballot. I also think Rand would strongly urge him not to do it.

The first economist to run for President, Larry Kotlikoff is currently third in the race for the AE nomination. Even if you're voting Democrat or Republican in November, it doesn't hurt to sign up for Americans Elect, peruse the
declared
candidates, and see why Professor Kotlikoff is the right choice to put the economy and this nation back on track.

Im afraid a Mr. Ross Perot beat Kotlikoff 20 years ago to become the first economist Presidential candidate.

I created an account and made a profile on their website. The whole thing seems like a vanity project for the sort of rich New Yorkers who would have been liberal Republicans back when there was such a thing. But I'll "go" to their "convention" if only out of morbid curiosity.
