This girl I loved wore hoodies a lot even in very hot weather because she liked the carrying capacity for the stuff that she tended to schlep around with her. She was possibly the least gangsta person I have ever met other than some of my aunts. My fifty-five-year-old white mother has more street cred than she did. She wore little round glasses and introduced me to LGBT anime.

I frequently wear black, but I'm not a danger to society. If I was black, I might be considered a menace to society...why? It's disgusting.

I suspect Naso doesn't want to get infracted??

You can get infracted for sharing unpopular opinions?

Has that hoodie been appropriately detained, yet?

I'm not a fan of hoodies--I think they're rather trashy to wear all the time--but this is retarded.

Mike Naso should never ever attend a hardcore show:

I don't know, I think the beat-back that happened in the wake of the Inks-Deluge debacle (and the descent of Leip to address it) means that the Mods don't have the standing right now to pull off a ban of a big-name poster.  this place would absolutely erupt, at least for opebo.  jmf maybe a bit less so, but still an outcry.  doesn't mean it could not happen at a future point.

Yes, horrifically threatening. Let's just ban the colour black.

The thing I really don't understand is that hooded sweatshirts have been around for decades.  When did they start being referred to as "hoodies" and when/how did they achieve a bad reputation among certain people?

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2012/03/geraldo-rivera-blames-hoodie-for-trayvon-martins-death/1

I've been saying this stuff on here for years. It's finally hit home.

It appears this shooting was not justified. But if you dress in a specific way trying to stand out, you're asking for negative attention. That's just the way it is.

A hoodie is asking for negative attention?  So what should people wear?  I'm sorry... dressing in a hoodie is not asking for negative attention, it's dressing in a friggin hoodie.

The text of the 911 call doesn't give the impression that Zimmerman pursued Martin because the latter was wearing a hoodie.  He was asked by the 911 dispatcher what Martin was wearing, and Zimmerman described the hoodie and something vague about the shirt and the fact that Martin supposedly had his hands in his waistband.  But his suspicion is aroused first by Martin supposedly just walking around the neighborhood, then by Martin staring at him and then by Martin running away.  It doesn't sound to me like Martin's wearing a hoodie, by itself, had much to do with the incident, so I don't see how Geraldo's diagnosis of the problem makes much sense to begin with.  But, it seems to me, the fact that Zimmerman pursued Martin after the 911 dispatcher told him not to makes the idea that Martin was the one who provoked the confrontation rather unbelievable.

I'm not sure; I just always have. Same thing with favourite, labour, etc. I've always preferred the British spelling. I used to spell center "centre" but I stopped doing it cuz it would annoy me.

Well, I've got to be honest, Geraldo basically said that.  I thought it was an overly stupid comment.
