So... certain people should be deprived of the Right to Life because some don't like the occupation they chose to pursue?

If I die, I don't want my organs going to Dick Cheney.  Apparently that is too much to ask.

(Also, aren't people entitled to a right to their own bodies?  Or does the right to life supercede that?  I'm so confused...)

Well, me neither, but I wouldn't want the man to die.

You do have a right to your own body.  You have the right to not donate your organs.  Specifying who you don't want them going to just seems a little... for lack of a better word... evil?

I have no problem with this legislation, other than its name anyway.  Now, would this just be someone indiscriminately checking that they don't want any official receiving said organ?

Those who choose to donate organs do not have the right to play God and determine who is most deserving or most in need.

First elected or appointed government officials, then who next?

So you let little three year old Johnny's daddy die because the organ donor doesn't like government officials.

This decision of who organs go is to be made by qualified medical professionals.

I shall oppose this bill.

And thank you Governor for your promise to veto this bill if passed.  If this bill had been passed when I was Governor, I would have vetoed it as well.

Debate time has expired.  The Assembly will now vote on the final text.  This vote will last 24 hours, or until all members have voted.
