Pat vs. Jesse is only about half-way off reality. Adding Duke & Farrakhan makes this race go from arch-conservative vs. arch-liberal to completely off tge wall f#ckin nits.

And the black vote will go 98% Jackson. The swing voters are hawks, Hispanics, moderates, and Jewish people. Whoever grabs those voters will win the election.

I would say that the Jewish vote *shocker!* would probably be Democratic just by nature.  I mean really, most ews are Democrats already, and if given a choice between two tickets that have anti-semitic runningmates I doubt they would have much motivation to jump ship.  Then again, they could also just decide to vote third party progressive (probably Green).

Actually, I think he'd do just a bit better than most Democrats do; still definitely in the high 80s and low 90s, but many moderate blacks would lead a crusade against him.  In fact, JJ might do worse with blacks than Clinton in 92.  But you put Powell or Rice on a ticket, (OR BOTH!) you get at least 30% of the black vote for the pubs.

I'd probably look somewhere else, and I'm white.

Racial issues would be...unbelievable in this scenario. I would be shocked if there wasn't some bloodshed in the streets. Maybe an outright descent into civil war, thought I doubt that. A little bit.

I'm just happy a scenario like this one is presently all but impossible.
