Ron Paul wants to go to a convention... I think it's clear he feels ( And for good reason) He can out debate the other candidates and really stress the fact that he has so much more support among Independent voters and veterans than the other candidates and that he has the best chance of beating Obama and ultimately redefining what it means to be a republican in modern times ( Because it seems like the party has lost it's way because of splits in it's base). I think in a debate he can really stress the message of Fiscal conservatism and attack both Romney and Santortum's economic policies whiles going after Paul Ryan's plan in which Romney also endorsed. All of these plans increase our military budget which ultimately does nothing to reduce our debt over the long run which is the opposite of true Fiscal conservatism in my opinion.

Yes Ryan's budget plan does drastically cut spending domestically but increases spending  overseas. What Paul would argue is that to actually make serious cut and fix our financial situation we have to cut both domestically and significantly reduce our defense budget.

This is basically what Paul argued about both Obama's and Ryan's budget
