15 of the 24 threads on the front page of the "Presidential Election Trends" board are about the 2016 election.  So effectively we have a 2016 board already.  It's Presidential Election Trends.  The question is whether we want a separate board for "Presidential Election Trends".

Right, I understand, but what I'm saying is hold off on creating a whole new board until after the Conventions.  We're still not in the "homestretch" of 2012, yet, so let's don't jump the gun just yet.  2016 can stay in the Trends board for now, let's bring it out around October 1.

Also, the 2016 threads on the "Presidential Election Trends" board are already more active than the "Gubernatorial/Statewide Elections" board, even though there are some actual Gubernatorial elections coming up in a few months, whereas the 2016 Iowa caucuses are still 41 months away.

Creation of this board is long overdue.  It's a far more interesting election than 2012 (which has gotten incredibly dull now).  In fact, the only reason to pay attention to the national conventions these next two weeks is because of all the likely 2016 candidates in attendance.

If news is starting to percolate for 2016, then I am all for it's creation.  Just don't neglect 2012, because there are still 10 weeks left in the 2012 cycle.

Dave made the 2012 board on Oct. 20, 2008.  If he follows the same schedule this time around, he should create the 2016 board in about two weeks.  (Though I certainly wouldn't mind if he did it right now.)
