They're super duper white trash. I think people should have to sign a release saying they understand the risks of skin cancer and whatnot before buying one or renting time with one. And they should be subject to a sin tax. But you can't really get rid of them.

As in the thread on smoking my opinion is option one but in practice I support option two out of respect for others. If other people want to risk giving themselves a deadly cancer, then so be it.

#3, though unlike smoking, these are uncool.  A pallor and a cigarette!

Ha ha, I used one just today!  Our apartment complex has one in the gym, so it's included in the rent anyway.  You have to build a decent base tan before the summer weather can take over - it's still too cold and windy right now to spend much time outdoors.

Option 2 though I will say I think some people take it too far with the orange skin ((New) Jersey Shore?)

Orange only happens if you either use fake tan or bronzing oil.

Whenever the sun has been out the past couple weeks, it's either been stupidly windy, or I've been working.

At least with tanning beds you don't have to worry about secondhand UV rays.

I prefer the sun for my carcinoma.  In fact, I'm something of a sun worshipper in the summer, and in my middle age I'm starting to get wrinkly because of it.

If I had to lie in a tanning bed I'd probably get bored and start masturbating, which might lead to a sunburn on my penis.  No thanks.

Still, to each his own, I say, so I'll go with option two.

Damn Yankees like the sun. Can't even begin to wrap my head around that one. But if the internet has taught me anything, it's that people enjoy all types of things I would find very unpleasant Tongue

Somewhere between 1 and 2, probably closer to 1.

It's very orange trash.

That may be an elitist thing to say and many of my best friends use them. But still.

I'm just the opposite, avoiding sun exposure at all costs, which is the main reason for my almost Dorian Grey appearance (well, that and extreme laziness).

Eh, I don't care much for them. I use them about 3 times. Mainly because when you live up in New England, and you go somewhere tropical during the winter, you want to make sure you have a base before going out. If I don't, I get burned bad. But the people who go religiously are just nuts jobs, just like *insert person here*.
