I propose we create a separate thread for the Giants and Phillies fans to bitch about their team's inability to go 162-0 and win the World Series every year.

Also, it would have been great if Ozzie has praised someone nobody has heard of, like Islam Karimov.

I would hope that we could post a decent record just two years removed from the World Series. I don't think a little consistency is too much to ask out of the team management.

Did anyone see the end of the Royals/A's game just now?  A hit by pitch wins the game for the A's 5-4 in 12 innings.

Madison Bumgarner vs. Jamie Moyer lmao. When the former was 8, the latter was going 17-5 with a 3.86 ERA, the #3 Mariners pitcher behind Randy Johnson (20-7, don't remember the ERA), and Jeff Fassero (16-9, 3.61 ERA)

Baseball-Reference provides us with the stats that Jamie Moyer compiled prior to Madison Bumgarner's birth.

don't fret, you're about two years away.  decent if small core of position players plus perhaps the best collection of starting pitching talent in the high minors, second to Atlanta if anything.  only question is if Felix will stay along for the ride.

Big win #2 for the BoSawks today. 12-2 over Tampa. They're last in the AL East. The Royals, Mariners, Athletics, Nationals, Pirates, Astros and Orioles all have better records than them. Shame, shame.

Speaking of which, I was reading an article today about how east coast baseball fans are much more highstrung than west coast fans. Tongue

I am pleased with how the St Louis Cardinals are doing 14 games into season.  A record of 10-4 and on top of the NL Central.  It is still extremely early, but if we can keep this consistency of winning 3 out of every 4 nights, we'll be in pretty good shape in the second half of the season.

Is it premature to declare Mike Trout the best player ever?

Nope. He's just that amazing. Wink He's been incredibly clutch so far too.

My O birds are finally starting to look serious! I can't believe they've ridden their usual early-season success this long this year. First place in the wild card this deep into the season is just absurd for such a disappointing team. I'm still just preparing myself for an even more heartbreaking collapse though.

I fear the Orioles have already started collapsing. We were never that good, our run differential shows that.

I KNOW but it's still a good position to be in NOT to implode for once! I'm not saying I don't expect them to, but there's still a chance they don't!

At least this Tillman guy seems like he can pitch.
