His best result in 2008 was about 44% in Cherokee County.
I say "No", because OK might even trend further away from Obama this year.

It's pretty incredible how there isn't even a tiny spot of red left in Oklahoma even in a good dem year like 2008. For example, Obama actually fared worse in Wyoming but still won 2 counties out of 23.

I reckon Obama might actually do a bit better this year. It's not like they'd love Mitt Romney...

I think he can get 45% in that country who gave him 44 in 2008. But I don't know. Oklahoma is too conservative (and yes, racist, too).

If it happens anywhere, it will be Oklahoma County. The urban/rural split isn't getting any smaller.

If it's Romney, yes. He'll improve in some of the Little Dixie counties; remember, even John Kerry got 48% in a few.

John Kerry was not a black, you see.

And Romney is a far poorer fit for OK than Bush. Obviously Obama won't win Oklahoma, and it will probably be his fourth worst state after the ID-WY-UT triangle against Mitt. But in a good year, he may win one or two counties and hit 37-38% of the vote.

The Democrats are surging in Oklahoma. On April 3, their candidate appears to have won state legislative district 71's special election by three votes, with a recount set to take place tomorrow.
