Based on what you know of the preceding poster's personality, attitudes, style, personality in times of panic, courage/bravery and, yes, income level/class; would he have survived? If so, how would he have done so? Would he have died onboard? How would he have died - trying to survive or "dying like a gentleman"?

He would have managed (perhaps by affecting an snotty French accent) to talk his way on to the upper decks (or organized a team of husky males to break down one of the gates/doors that were "securing" the lower deck folks from their soon to be tomb), and secured a place on a life boat along with the other "gentlemen."

He seems pretty calm and not really prone to fits of panic, so I guess that he could be a good candidate for "dying like a gentleman". Then again, he might have tried to escape by jumping into the water or something.
