I'm sure he can, Gingrich and Paul might split the vote 3 ways, but we'll see what happens.

I could see AR, WV possibly KY going for Gingrich.

Yes, but he may have to fight for AR and KY.

There's a (very) remote shot at a Paulista coup in Nebraska.

WV doesn't have the kind of evangelical population that the deep south does. I would agree with you regarding AR and KY.

I think WV will pose a bigger problem for Mitt than AR or KY as there won't be the temptation for the conservative protest vote to split as much. Newt may gain enough ground in AR & KY to split off Santorum and let Romney slide. I think the vast majority of the conservative protest vote in WV will go straight to Santorum, giving him a better chance of winning there.

I'm not sure but the great thing is that if he does lose more, it's going to be absolutely hilarious because there's really no excuse for it at this point.

West Virginia is more then willing to vote for big government establishment figures who aren't that religious. The coal companies have the jobs and the money in WV and who they endorse in the GOP primary will likely win.

Probably, yeah. Once he wrecks the 24th I don't see how Paul or Gingrich could make a legitimate run at any state.

Eh, Paul was leading last South Dakota poll and Romney's weak there too.  Outside of SD, I don't see things looking good for anyone though.

Romney trailed Paul in one poll from early December that also showed Gingrich in second, Bachmann in third, and Perry in fourth. May not be the perfect model for prediction...nor was it the last poll from South Dakota (that one has Romney at 33% and Paul at 9%).

Can you link me to the other poll?  I can't find it.

edit: never mind, found it.  Both polls seem equally sketchy and were conducted by the same people.  They just don't reflect the national trends at all.  Santorum should at least be leading in the newest one.

What % of the vote will Romney get in the remaining southern states?
