"America Regrets Giving Bush Surprise Third Term"

Magnificent.  I feel like it was significant the show didn't name a candidate.

To be fair, it seems to me like politicians in general have lower favourables now than historically. But that still doesn't excuse Romney of course.

Naw, it's just Romney.

Has anyone polled Bush lately? I found a CNN poll from September where he was 42-53, which is comparable to Romney's numbers.

Here is how Bush does today:

BTW: George W. Bush has a 45-50 favorable rating these days, according to the poll - among all voters.
Retirement will do wonders for a politician's favorability.

So unless a third party runs on the democrat side of the aisle, Romney's done?

This is something the Santorum campaign has been saying since day one.

Goldwater style landslide coming right up.

I wish, but that just isn't possible with the current level of polarization.

Goldwater was a great politician, he was just a terrible candidate. Romney is Bob Dole, face it. They even kinda look alike:

Thanks to the twin neanderthals Santorum and Gingrich, especially Santorum, who planted such negative falsehoods about Romney and who alienated large segments of the electorate against any Republican nominee by dwelling on social issues that turned off much of the population, making it more difficult for Romney to focus the electorate's attention on the economy, a field in which Romney excels.

We will see improvements in Romney's numbers once he again focuses the nation's attention on the economy.

Maybe it's a time to draft George W. Bush for President?

Screw the constitution. He's still more electable than Mitt Romney.

The funny thing is that he actually is... You couldn't drink a beer with Mitt Romney. I mean, you literally couldn't.

GWB doesn't drink.

Goldwater was a great politician, he was just a terrible candidate. Romney is Bob Dole, face it. They even kinda look alike:

Dole was a veteran who lost his right arm in Italy. He returned back home to impoverished rural Kansas and became a lawyer, working his way up. He then was elected to the House of Representatives and the Senate. Romney doesn't have the integrity, background, or political experience of Bob Dole.

Yes, but he can drink liquids.  Mountain Dew would fry Romney's circuits.

Yeah, and all those gaffes that kept falling out of Romney's mouth didn't help, either.

Dole was a veteran who lost his right arm in Italy.

He lost the use of it; not the whole arm.

Cover of Time Magazine 4/20/92:

too lazy to look up the specific numbers, but Clinton obviously had negative unfavorables in April and was probably trailing Perot and Bush as Nirvana was on their Nevermind tour and we were all glued to our TV sets watching TMNT (soon to be butchered by Michael Bay), doing M. Bison vs. Dhalsim battles, and so on.

Well, Clinton, Reagan, Bush and Obama have something in common that Romney does not have - charisma and folksybility - Romney is just an awkward clown robot. But he can still hope that the economy slides or that Obama stumbles in the debates.

A valueless cipher who stands for nothing aside from his advancement (hence, a man who has completely renounced his past record when he decided to run for president) and enrichment

I did, well Brandy anyway.  He can work a room of drinkers.  I don't know if Obama really can without people fawning all over him.  He is either cold or goofy... I just can't see it.
