There's absolutely no reason why anyone in their right minds would choose Mississippi over Alabama. There are at least some semi-nice parts of Alabama.

Huntsville area's supposed to be at least kinda not-shove-religion-down-your-throatey. I can find no such area in Mississippi.

I wanna thank the most important county in my life for its existence: Elmore County, Alabama.

Alabama has stronger unions and a better economy than Mississippi. Also, Alabama is at least in theory more competitive at the state level for Democrats than is Mississippi.

Alabama is quite a bit nicer on average than Mississippi, due to it being farther away from Arkansas and Louisiana than Mississippi.

Huntsville is pretty nice and moderate, but it's still conservative in many regards. Huntsville and Chattanooga are similar in how
a majority acts liberal but votes conservative
- latte liberals. Tuscaloosa's not a bad place, either.
