Was there any actual doubt about the outcome of the voting? The conventions are a show these days, everyone knows that. This is in conspiracy theorist territory.

It's worth noting that the teleprompter said [GO TO SCENARIO X] for other unlikely events; they apparently even scripted what to do if the chair noted an objection to one of those standard procedural motions that nobody ever objects to. It is a bit telling that there was no alternative teleprompter scenario for the motion failing the voice vote.

Crazy Paulites. I'm pretty sure at this point that the only thing that could make me pull a second party switch is Paulites taking over the GOP.

Scripting a meeting is fairly common for any large (or not so large) meeting.

Here is the website for two highly regarded professional parliamentarians:

http://www.aipparl.org/green.htm

http://www.aipparl.org/Glazer.htm

You'll note that both offer scripting services.

One of their accreditation tests, the lesser one, actually requires the applicant to write a script.  http://www.jimslaughter.com/organizations.htm

They actually had one parliamentarian, with six deputies.  Had something off-script come up, they probably could have handled it.

^^It'd be me switching from the Libertarians (and to a lesser extent the Democrats) to the GOP, but this.
