(why does Scandinavia produce all of the arsonist-Satanic-Pagan-Nazi metal bands?)

It's who we are...part of the answer is that we have a cool pagan history. Part of the reason is that we're blonde (a prerequisite for being a self-respecting Nazi). And we're depressed and live in big forests. And some people are rebelling against ABBA.
As you can tell, I don't really know.

I'm currently wondering about those metal bands in Madagascar and Lusophone Africa, as you can imagine.

Guess it's a question of perspective & choice of narrative method ...
... and that, by the way, is also one of the reasons why none of Eric Hobsbawm's books has been turned into a succesful Broadway musical so far.

I have a Botswanan death metal album on my iTunes. Apparently, they have their own scene for it.

I thought that too, but if you look closer it is actually gray.

It's too bad no one will probably do hardcore bands per capita to contrast. There'd be a much greater concentration in southern Europe than Scandinavia, and the bright colors would basically be exclusively the US, Canada, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. The only other non-blue countries would be Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia (with a surprisingly higher concentration than metal though I bet), South Africa, Israel and Turkey.

I have no recollection of having said that. I make up a lot of stuff, it would seem.
Also, Bhutan obviously can't have this genre - they focus on happiness, after all.
