Actually, campaigning with one of the most charismatic and popular Senators in America today is a very smart political move on the part of the Romney campaign.

Really, I understand your track record of fawning over the man that's flip flopped more than a dying fish on a pier but, Rubio's not even up there in popularity and charisma, not so much. He's more popular on paper than in FL or anywhere so that's why they are deploying him up there.

According to the principle that possibly-maybe VP nominees can help make next-door-but-five home states competitive, this should most certainly swing Pennsylvania into Romney's column.

Makes sense.  Rubio works better as a Hispanic Friend in middle-class suburbia than as a VP in any actual state.

But before the Civil War, it was a next-door-but-four home state, which changes everything.

If you lose a state to someone not in the race anymore, it's a lot less embarrassing if you didn't contest it.
