Meet John Oceguera, 43, with a lifetime pension

Oceguera is challenging Republican Rep. Joe Heck in the 3rd Congressional District. Campaigning has been a full-time job for the Democrat since he retired as North Las Vegas' assistant fire chief Sept. 23. Oceguera no longer has to concern himself with the details of double-dipping, his longtime practice of collecting his firefighting and legislative salaries at the same time.
The cost of that service purchase was cushioned by his parting gift from North Las Vegas: $283,733.69 in accrued, unused sick leave. (No wonder North Las Vegas is broke!) According to TransparentNevada.com, Oceguera's total compensation from the city for 2011 totaled $452,516, making him one of the highest-paid government workers in the state last year.
I'm sure he is proud of being one of millions of public sector fat cats looting the public, with riches that are not afforded to the average taxpayer. I guess they're the 1%ers.

On a scale of slighly hard to fully erect, how excited does krazen get when hears about public workers having their livelihoods taken away from them?

If 'having their livelihood taken away' means 'being rejected by the voters of Nevada for being such a fiend', slightly hard.

Is this some attempt at deflating the insanity of private sector fat cats abusing the system? This guy's a douche but he's stealing pennies compared to the private sector heroes bleeding the country dry. But you know, who cares? Waste only matters when it has something to do with public workers, labor leaders, and/or Democrats, right? Now those are some principles I can get behind. The Republican Party must be proud of your solidarity with their cause.

Are you equally outraged that the current governor of Texas draws a 6 digit pension?

This. I am perfectly fine with outrage at public employee pensions, which are bloated in many parts of the country, but some outrage directed towards the corporations that are bleeding this country dry would be nice as well.

The Nevada legislature is in session for 120 days in only odd-numbered years. Shame on John Oceguera for earning a living for those other 610 days when the legislature isn't in session.

Earning? No, he is cashing out a Jerry Brown 'million' worth of sick leave. Most of us 99%ers cannot accumulate and pension spike $280k worth of sick leave; it's certainly a privilege reserved for the chosen few.

Nevada legislative pay is a little more than $130/day. Averages out to $7,800 a year. That's his "double dipping."

Not that Krazen's argument is valid, but try it with a bloated overpaid legislature like PA
