Move to table- we have issues at hand relating to our economy and our foreign policy...this can wait

I second this motion. Seriously, let's talk about the FPR.

This has nothing to do with the FPR. If it doesn't need a slot it will be up by tonight. If it does, it will be brought up in the Foreign Policy Slot when the Afghan bill is done.

Amendment consideration and debate is halted until the tabling motion is dispensed with.

A motion to table has been entered and is so noted. The motion to table requires the seconding of another Senator. Two senators have seconded the motion and therefore a vote is now open on the and consideration of the motion is now before the floor. Senators please vote, Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

Nay

This is absolutely ridiculous.

Agreed Scott- this is why people complain about the Fantasy board I believe...

Atlasia is in trouble and I highly doubt it is because I introduced a Cheeseburger Bill back in Decmeber or because Alfred wants to eat muffins all day long. It is hardly a major concern comparatively.

And if this fails, you tablers can then take credit for causing this bill to be on the floor two days longer then it otherwise would have been. Tongue

Aye.

Seriously, this bill is just a waste of time.  Amendments for other stuff can be put in separate bills or something.  But I am totally sick of joke bills.

We are barely keeping debate going on the five or six serious bills we got up now. If this bill generates discussions and interest, who gives a damn.

Plus my OSPR amendment, and the Primary bill will be off the floor tonight. The Second CIFA will be at vote and the Third one can be tabled if that passes. That means four of the 10 bills currently in the queue will be on the floor by this weekend.

Aye

Ben has put forward a great topic for discussion about foreign policy which I have sponsored...ilikeverin put forward an amendment... I see no reason why this bill should be given any time at all. I like muffins as much as the next fat man but the joy many of us get here is discussing policies not flavor preferences

None of which will be in this slot. The FPR doesn't need one or goes in the Foreign Policy Slot once it is open. The ILV amendment is Forum Affairs, both slots are currently open.

There are other bills that are worth debating that haven't been debated yet.  Entertaining bills like this that have no real intention or generate any constructive debate just wastes time.

That is just frankly impossible. Roll Eyes

Aye:
If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to fulfill a campaign promise:

The National Muffin Act

The national muffin of the Republic of Atlasia shall be the chocolate-chip muffin.
I'm ready to co-sponsor it.
Huzzah!

Let's wait until the important stuff gets done, though.

I thought it would be quick and easy. Therefore I wanted to get it done and over with and off the queue.

Vote on Motion to Table The National Muffin Act:

Aye (4): Alfred F. Jones, Clarence, Sbane and Scott
Nay (3): ILV, NC Yankee, and TJ in Cleve
Abstain (0):

Didn't Vote (2): Nathan and Pingvin99

With two thirds of those Senators voting, having not voted in the affirmative within the 48 hour time limit, the motion to table has not been adopted.

A motion to table offered on the grounds of "not wanting to expend time on a lower priority", only works if the damn thing passes. For if it does not, the people proposing it become complicit in engaging in advancing the exact opposite of what they claim to desire. They have waisted time and delayed more important things.

Or to put it another way, EPIC FAIL. Tongue

Now get your asses in these threads and do your jobs.

You responded favorably to the previous amendment, correct? Has that status changed?

No it hasn't been accepted as friendly or no the status has not changed?

It would be funny as hell if you were to respond with an unclear yes or no one word answer to this question Wink

Which one are you abstaining to? They are trying to change the names of the airports in Nyman back to Ronald Reagan and Dulles. Please vote against that and we can change them to a neutral one later if you wish.

Also I will be voting Nay on both amendments.

You can't vote nay on both amendments. A vote is only open on Amendment 48:23 which deals with the airpoirts. You can object to Amendment 48:22 to force a vote on it.

Do I need to give "the slot" talk again. Tongue

It is an unreasonable concern with the number of slots for legislation that we have.

It is Nathan and Ben.

Nathan is leaving office in an hour and twenty minutes.
