That would be epic, but the tradition is for presidents (more so than for vice presidents) to retire from the public spotlight after their term in office.

I doubt it. While John Q Adams, Andrew Johnson, and Taft had a future after being President, most just retire. Did any other Presidents run for office again (besides President)?

More than likely, if there's any position he gets after being president, it's going to be a seat on the Supreme Court.

I doubt it. I'd say Michelle Obama would more likely run for that seat.

It would be too big a step down. Supreme court judge would be a more dignified position. Much will depend on Michelles ambitions.

It could be great if he got involved in humanitarian work in Africa. Maybe as head of a UN-agency, but unfortunately anti-Americanism in the UN-system might be too strong.

Probably not; because Congress inaugurates before the Presidency, he'd either be forced to resign early and allow Biden to be President for the last two weeks of the 2013-2017 term, or enter later and be the least senior Senator. I can imagine Obama being appointed to the Supreme Court or even running for Governor, but I don't think he has a future in the legislative branch. Who knows, though; it isn't impossible.

He'll only be 50 if he loses this year and 54 if he makes it to 2016, which means he'll still be younger than many politicians are at the start of their political careers, so there's definitely time. But yeah, I tend to agree that an appointment to the Supreme Court is more likely, though more likely he'll just write books, go on speaking tours, and do charity work.

No. It just wouldn't like right. Also, I don't understand this obsession with Michelle running for the seat. She isn't like Hillary, guys. She has made it known how much she dislikes the political arena.

And you're a fucking asshole. How about you try actually contributing something to a debate at some point, or are you too busy kissing Rick Santorum's ass?

No, Mike Quigley should run and would get Obama's full support.  He gonna endorse candidates and raise money for the rest of his career as a Dem since he is a good campaigner and donor based candidate.

I think he'll run in 2016, and he's a shoo-in to win.

Of course, it means Biden will end up being President for 17 days.

How will that be possible with Romney in the White House?

What about Tammy Duckworth or Brad Schneider?
Schneider is going to unseat Bob Dold -Kirk's successor in IL-10 get re-elected in 2014 by a wide margin perhaps in a rematch against Dold.
Duckworth is going to defeat Joe Walsh in IL-8 by a landslide margin and will get re-elected in 2014 against a sacrificial lamb GOP challenger.

Mike Quigley, Forrest Claypool and Rahm Emanual were the three reformers that stood up to the Strooger-Burris-Blago scandles I think Quigley who isn't reguarded as a tax raiser, which Ginnoulias was tagged with is gonna do well against Kirk. Tammy Duckworth is more like Melissa Bean she should stay in the house.

Forget the senate. I'm not even sure this guy really wants to run for a second term.
