Oh hell yes. Especially if it had loads of monologue narration by the protagonist, which based on his style it probably would.

What forumite would be best to direct this movie?

I haven't read the article, but I firmly support Simfan's efforts to blame Lena Dunham for our society's rot.

I'm having a tough time deciding which would be better:

-Written by Tweed, directed by opebo
-Written by opebo, directed by Tweed

I don't envision either of their talents translating well to directing, and opebo's style is far more literary/journalistic than cinematic.

Obviously opebo writes the book and then Tweed writes the script for the movie adaptation, which takes some liberties with the source material but still stands on its own as a fine piece of work.

Professor Nathan: A shameless agrarian collectivist with no respect for private property or individual rights. Can you really trust him?

Yes, that probably would be best. Still makes me wonder who'd be best here to direct it.

I have a feeling though you wouldn't be too fond of my idea that Tweed would make an awesome preacher if he was a Christian, though I would love the novelty value of someone in a "high church" doing an emo rant reinterpreting some verses. Maybe even moreso than seeing that guy who basically was trying to imitate the delivery style of Jon Stewart who was here a few months ago at such a place.

I'm not actually opposed to certain types of charismatic styles during sermons at all. It's the lack of any real set structure of prayers and hymns that bothers me. Tweed would be an immensely interesting preacher, if constantly toeing any number of lines. Wink

I'm thinking of which Scripture his legendary post about "The Group" would fit best in illustrating. Maybe something about Moses and the Golden Calf. Actually it relates to that a hell of a lot more than it does about an LA Times poll of the 2008 Iowa caucus.

I suspect a Tweed movie would be rather loosely plotted. I'd certainly watch it.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

Probably true. If it did have a plot it'd probably be similar to (500) Days of Summer.

No, since I would not be able to follow the dialogues (or monologues, I should say).

Tweed and opebo.... Abbott and Costello?

As far as I've noticed neither of us abuse the other, nor do we even interact much.

But alas I cannot write any scripts or anything else - I'm too lazy.

I remember you wrote and shared some pretty in depth reviews of your experiences trying to pick up hookers in South Korea and how difficult it was and you got so desperate you settled for a chubby mid-40s woman. Something like that. Anyway I'd buy a book of that. Then Tweed could write the screenplay as Nathan noted.

I think any semi-autobiographical book written by opebo should change some facts to make it more interesting, like giving him an occupation that results in him being sent to Thailand, like a journalist or an assassin. Actually opebo as an assassin would be really hilarious and awesome. Imagine the type of one liner he'd pull out before killing a Thai crime lord or whatever.

I think opebo's actual reasoning for self-imposed exile is more creative and funnier, to be perfectly honest.

I'd be keen to hear more of opebo's background...
