"Forward" is Wisconsin's state motto, so this is a clear pander, akin to Romney's "the trees are the right height" in Michigan.
Now Obama just needs to repeat "forward" 10 times in one speech like Julia Gillard did with "moving forward":

Good choice. Banal and vacuous, of course, but for a slogan, it's strong, displays well, sets up a nice contrast, and isn't easily turned against Obama.
The Obama campaign is good at sloganeering. "Tell Barack you're in." "Are you in?" I'm seeing those ads everywhere. Good for what they want to accomplish.
What's Romney's slogan, again?

Forward off the cliff into oblivion, maybe.
You are incredibly witty.
I don't think so myself. Simple truth shows that this country was much wealthier in the past than it has been during the obama administration. A proper slogan would be 'backward'.
...The speculative boom in real estate about ten years ago devoured the sort of wealth that used to be invested in plant and equipment. Capital invested in plant and equipment tends to create jobs that generate the income necessary for paying off mortgages. Capital wasted on an economic bubble creates an illusion of prosperity for a short time but leads to the realization of huge losses after a few years when nobody can pay the mortgages.
I could make the case that after eight years of Dubya we were no better off economically than we had been in the 1950s. We will be forced back in that direction if we are lucky -- if without the male chauvinism, Jim Crow practice, McCarthyism, and homophobia. Whoops -- the mainstream of the GOP is male-chauvinist, bigoted, homophobic, and politically intolerant! Eight years of bungling created how many years of decay?

Please, if all you people can do is hate on Obama's campaign slogan then you really are just grasping at straws.
This.
I mean, what can Mitt Romney go with? "I like firing people"?
Is that you best you can come up with? A quote taken completely out of context?

Come on now. Republicans criticizing Obama's diversionary slogan is no different than Democrats harping on every single thing Romney says as if it's some gaffe. It's all fair game.
So you acknowledge that the criticism in this thread is dumb, mindless partisan bickering that you just do for kicks because "it's what my side does". Great. Now that you're self-aware, stop doing it.

Likewise.
Funny thing is, none of us will stop. If y'all won't, we won't. If we won't, y'all won't. So please don't be naive enough to think you can offer me some type of "above the fray" prescription.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. This is an Internet message board. Nothing we say here matters. You don't have to "spin". You're not trying to influence voters. So if you acknowledge that what you're saying is spin and is just nonsense, then stop saying it! Otherwise you're literally just spinning and making intellectually shallow arguments for the fun of it. Which is gross.

You're operating under the premise that I'm the only one who "spins." I'm not. And I'm not going to leave Democrat spin unanswered.
And how can one not make intellectually shallow arguments about an intellectually shallow campaign slogan?

But why does it matter what anyone else here does? Again, nothing on here actually influences the outside world. So why would you voluntarily "spin" and make silly, petty arguements and criticize Democrats just for the sake of doing it? I just don't understand what you get out of that.

Despite his response above, I like to think I'm generally not rude, but I'd rather not have to read any more boilerplate GOP rhetoric than I already do on
Politico
or whateaver godawful site I'm weirdly compelled to visit.
