I've always thought of it as option 1, but from some posted campaign videos it appears some posters think of it as option 2. I don't think an official pronunciation has ever been established.

The former pronunciation makes more sense, of course, but the corrupted form sounds better (and hence it is my choice).

Option 1.  And I'm surprised Option 2 has the majority.  It's based on "Atlas"... pronouncing it like "Asia" makes no sense...

It must be a Northeast thing to pronounce it as the latter, cuz I know that's how Tweed pronounces it too.

How do you get IPA on the forum?

So long as you get the characters in the "submit" box, they show up here.  I have a keyboard layout that has some of the more common ones for English and copypaste others.

Well, it does come from 'Atlas', so I guess Option 1 would be the strictly correct pronunciation, but At-lay-zha just sounds better.
