It's up there... Rome and the first couple seasons of Dexter are also up there.

And of course King of the Hill, Simpsons, and other comedies. But those are a separate category for me.

It's unquestionably one of the best shows to come out of the past few decades. Breaking Bad and Mad Men come close to matching its greatness.

I have a really hard time deciding between The Wire, Mad Men and Breaking Bad*, but The Wire is definitely pretty great. Certainly one of the most intelligent shows in the history of television.

*Friday Night Lights is also up there. Probably the Sopranos and Deadwood as well but I've never watched those in their entirety.

Yes, it's the best. I prefer watching The Sopranoes and BSG, but The Wire is a better show.
