Vomiting all day and now night

Can't sleep - been vomiting since 3pm every half or so. Was on the road until later this evening. Now also have fever, chills, etc also.

Think I'll go see Doctor tomorrow, but should I? Sounds like a highly contagious virus to me.

Any idea how to stop the vomiting? Have been putting little slots in my ass as a pharmacy recommended, but hasn 't helped at all. Not able to keep any liquid down because of this and feel totally energyless.

If I vomited all day and night I'd do more than see a doctor, I'd go check into the hospital.  Though I would guess a couple of days in the hospital getting re-hydrated and anti-biotized and so forth would run well under $200 here.  I had a rather serious accident, stitches, one or two 'cat scans', intravenous drip and anti-biotics, and two days in the hospital, and it only cost about $400 (I paid about 10%, insurance covering the rest).  The bizarre thing was the food was absolutely delicious in the Thai hospital.  Really amazing.

Sounds like either the flu or food poisoning to me.  Either way, try to keep hydrated and definitely see a doctor.

If you get any worse it might be worth heading to a hospital if possible - better safe than sorry.

When I was in Paris in December I got a FOUL 24-36 hour bug where I couldn't even deal with water, except from tiny sips... I ended up bringing up bile and blood...

I should have gone to the Doctor... but didn't have the strength to move any further than my bed and the bathroom...

If you didn't check the doctor already, do it and get some stomach medicine and eat Zwieback (that's what I do when I have the flu, which is not often the case).

Don't understand the Zäpfchen-thing though, isn't that only for little kids ? But I'm no pharmacist, so I don't know.

In about 10 years, you are an "Old" and you can look forward to the Urologist sticking his fingers into your ass for routine prostate tests (in case you do this) ...

No point taking any medication if you can't even hold it down. Thus stick it up your ass. I guess they were anti-emetics, Franzl? Also it's highly critical to stay hydrated right now. So keep drinking water even if you throw up most of it. If you really can't keep anything down, including water, I would go in for an IV drip. And of course see your Doctor regardless.

And it seems to have gone almost as quickly as it came. Life is certainly more enjoyable being able to keep basic things like water down
