Hmm. All these people seem to want the AFDNC to change their name.

I never thought I'd see the day when Harry would be higher on the honorable list than Nym or Fritz Smiley

Harry, Gabu, and Defarge were chosen for posting their support for a name change on the AFDNC forums.

Ilikeverin was recognized for his courageous piece of Midwestern legislation to disallow real-life party names.

Well, I'm honored. Wink

It's nothing huge, though.  Everything is always much more fun when everything's fair, and things are most certainly not fair when one party has an advantage over others by means of name recognition.  Given that I value this over my attachment to the name (which is not that high - a rose by another name, and such), it was not a hard decision to make.

I am honored as well.  However, again, I will support a name change only if the Republicans do.  Like most of the forum, I support an equal playing field in Atlasia for all parties.

Even if it was at least violating the spirit of the Constituion, if not its letter.

Although I believe that the real-life party names should be left at the door, it must be done through peaceful agreements where both sides consent to it and not radical government action.

If these people were honoured by you, does that mean they were dishonoured before?

Very simple:

Democrats change their name to Atlas Democratic Party.
Republicans change their name to Atlas Republican Party.

This would eliminate the inbuilt registration problem, which, IMO, is the only legit complaint about the use of either name.

So people would have to register as Atlas Democrats, not just Democrats.

New registrations of "Democrat" or "Republican" wouldn't county any more, and people registering as such would have to check out all the parties.
