Voted Option 2, though I wasn't happy about it.
53-47.

I think this year's ballot measures will go something like this:
MD approval - Passes by 1-3 points
ME approval - Passes by 7-9 points
MN ban - Fails by 1-3 points
NC ban - Passes by 8-10 points in the May primary (pass more narrowly if it was in November)
WA approval - Passes by 4-6 points

It'll pass narrowly most likely and even has a slim chance of failure now that the Presidential primary is unimportant. Banning civil unions as well as gay marriage is what will make it so slim. If the sponsors had contented themselves with banning gay marriage alone, it would pass with double digits.

The same poll has respondents say that same sex couples should have legal recognition by a 57-39 margin. Liars.

Might be more hopeful than realistic, but I will say it will fail by 3-4 points.

Option 1, by the current polling margin or a little more, so I think that makes it like 60-40.

This wouldn't shock me but I like mitty's 55-45 prediction.

Do we not have a results thread? Reports are urban-heavy, but closer than I expected:
Yes 53.08%
No 46.92%

Also, it's currently receiving only 43% among Election Day ballots. It's early votes that are giving it a win -- 60% for.

I think this is the results thread, though it would probably fit better under the 'Gubernatorial/Statewide Elections' sub-forum.
Where are you getting your results Alcon? I only found this link (Am. 1 is at the bottom of the page):

Results are very urban-heavy, though, so I suspect it will creep up toward 60% (probably mitigated a bit by the disproportionately Election Day-heavy votes from now on.)

The state shouldn't be getting into the marriage business. And where there are benefits not related to the "holy" or contractual aspects of the union (inheritance, property rights, etc) lets make it equal. Let a church decide if it will marry someone, but let all the other stuff be equal beyond that.

Not only was this vote bigoted but idiotic too. Now an abusive boyfriend may also get away with spousal abuse, and there is nothing the girlfriend can do either.
EDIT: I also came across that a lot of single mothers and STRAIGHT domestic partners will lose a lot of benefits because of this. I cannot wait to see their faces when they find out that they voted to have their own rights taken away.

What is America's soul?
Can you be an apostate if you were not part of the church to begin with?
