I don't hate him, but I still think he ought to be banned.  Though, I would be fine either way.

Just like I am friends with jamespol, but as much of a friend as he is to me, I would be the first one to stand up against any kind of unbanning of him.  He needed to go.

In fact, when he was in his sock days, I would personally PM Nym90 and alert him to the fact that he's back.

Even so, I still alerted Nym90 and Dave about his sock.  You can ask Nym90 that I did alert him.  I believe he had one sock after Nym90 received his ModAdmin status, because I do recall PM'ing him about it.

The one he had around (I can't remember the name) January 2011.  I found the PM reply that Nym90 sent me saying his account has been banned.

Also Straha's postings significantly improved from when he started posting, he went from mostly just useless spam and troll crap to very witty and funny stuff by the time he was mod reviewed.

I still don't understand why people think this is a big deal.  They don't get upset when people go to jail (REAL JAIL) for posting unpleasant things on the internet, but if somebody gets banned from this retarded place they act like it's the worst thing since Kony.  The recreational outrage that comes from the mod actions here was funny for awhile, but it's starting to get a little depressing.  Don't you have guys any ANYthing else to feign outrage over?  Maybe another Republican in the White House?

Recreational outrage is a good term for a lot of it, I think. Do I support the banning of Straha? No, not really. He was never officially banned in the first place, his shenanigans were years ago, and his posts since returning were all fine and occasionally interesting. I think all of that is worth stating and the mods should be reasonable and take that into consideration.

But am I going to lose any sleep over this? No. Mod criticism would have so much more impact if people would not freak out over literally every decision ever made. (And also if it was all just a lot smarter, but that's another issue.)
