Rob Gleason, the Pennsylvania Republican State Party chair, says that Mitt Romney isn’t optimistic about winning the state in November, reports The Morning Call.

Gleason recalled telling Mitt Romney at a fundraiser that they would win Pennsylvania, to which Romney replied, “Really?”

“I don’t think anyone thinks we can carry Pennsylvania, I don’t think even Romney thinks we can win Pennsylvania; they’re not counting on it, but they’ll play here,” Gleason said. “We’re not asleep at the switch. We’ve been working on this for four years. This is the big one.”

Pennsylvania is considered a swing state, but recent polling showed President Obama ahead there by eight points. Pennsylvania hasn’t picked a Republican for president since 1988.

I love our chairman for other political reasons and I don't speak ill of him though we don't always agree. He's a Mitt fan but I'm glad he pointed out another silly Mitt-ism.

By the way, even if you don't think you're going to win, why the hell would you respond that way to a swing state party chairman (who stay neutral/didn't hurt you in your main rival's home state despite being friends with said rival)? Roll Eyes
