Yes, fight, FIGHT over me! I'm just going to sit on the sidelines for the immediate future, until I learn enough about the current climate to make the best decision. I remember coming in here back in 2005 for a bit but that's been ages and the outdated Wiki isn't helping my catching up process. Politically, I'm probably closest to Labor, but of course I'm in the South, so I've been looking at IB, too. The only downside is IB being predominantly a regional party (not necessarily a bad thing), but with its monopoly on regional affairs, I feel joining IB immediately would be just a token gesture.

IB being primarily a regional party isn't a hinderance to you (look at Kalwejt/Yelnoc running for Veep), and we don't have a monopoly on regional affairs (yet), we only control maybe a bit more than 55% of our regional affairs.

Labor has no members in the south, you could be our first regional member.

I was wondering if there was a distinction between regional and national; I thought I read somewhere that regional parties could operate autonomously but since IB was listed as a party alongside all of the other national parties and the census list has it as a primary affiliation, I thought it meant you couldn't have two separate affiliations. I haven't put together all the party affiliations of each member here yet, so my bad on not recognizing it!

There's no difference between regional and national parties; the IB just restricts its membership to those who currently reside in the IDS (I'd been thinking about suggesting they allow members to join from throughout the South, not just the IDS, but that's what it is now). But yeah, I don't think you can have two different affiliations.

Actually no, there are no party rules on who can and cannot join the IB.  I would be more then open to Virginians and Missourians and whoever else that's interested joining.

Also, Adam, you might be interested to know that the IDS has a regional census bureau of its own (the only one of its kind!).  The IB is a regional party in focus but nationally registered.  I like to think of it as a coalition whereby southerners can promote their interests at a national level with a united front.  However at the regional level one can register however one wants; this has no effect on national registration.  So you could join the IB in Homely's thread, and then go to our thread (which is currently off the front page; PiT I believe will be putting the new one together in a week or so) and register there as "Labor" or "Southern Labor" or whatever you want.  You would still be a member of the IB in the national census, but you could also express solidarity with workers elsewhere in Atlasia.

Yes, this; Yelnoc's the IB-boss-guy and has been around here for a good while longer than I have. I don't think I've registered in the regional census bureau either, so that's something for me to do as well.
