July 28th 2012 at the Freehold VFW in Freehold, NJ.

No, I'm not advertising, but I'm really excited. This is the first live show I'll have ever played.

Thanks! Smiley It's about 45 minutes away from Middletown. It's literally right smack dab in the middle of Marlboro and Jackson.

Like homely, while it's unfortunate you're playing pop-punk (Tongue), as a musician I wish you the best of luck. Enjoy!

What do you play in the band? Do you sing?

I've been in the same band for about ten years now (although the name of it has changed once or twice). Our next gig is actually on June 2nd.

Playing a gig can be a lot of work but it's a very rewarding experience when it goes well. You'll probably end up feeling pretty nervous at this show since it's your first. That's normal. You'll get more and more used to it the more you do it. Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah, although some of the stuff we do sounds more like folk-rock these days. Here's a good example of a psychedelicish track though (kind of old):

My brother and I played in a punk band in high school. I didn't actually know how to play the bass, but that was fine. Consistent with the ethos of punk rock.

It was an... odd... time in my life. I stuck around long enough to play a couple of shows in a venue called "the Dungeon." It was located in the basement of a decaying old row building, and dangerously out of keeping with fire codes. Some guy got pushed through a wall backstage, and I decided that I'd had enough. Most of our fans were scumbags, and I didn't like the music anymore.

My brother stuck with the drums, but he quit the band shortly a while after I did, sick of playing the same simplistic back-beat for every song. He joined a prog rock group shortly thereafter, and now he's in his freshman year of college, studying music performance.

Anyway, best of luck to you, 20RP12.

You don't need to know how to play an instrument to play in a punk band Tongue

But interesting story Smiley Thanks Smiley
