I sponsored this legislation because I believe it is of utmost importance to ensure that legislators do not receive special treatments or privileges or exemptions from laws, economic regulations, et cetera.

I agree wholeheartedly with this...was there any particular issue Scott that you had in mind when proposing this?

The Congressional insider trading scandal and the draft debate both helped inspire this.

I have concerns relating to a potential draft, but a draft is highly improbable, so this legislation has my full support.

I do possess knowledge of potentially unethical scheming in the lead up to the passage or attempted passage of certain FTAs in 2009 back when they were done individual. Whether or not that involved insider trading I may or may not know.

Crap, well now how the hell am I supposed to make more money?
Now, for a stupid question, that does end up being a real one. It's a bit fetched, but does this interfer with office holding? Because if I remember correctly, someone recently held duel offices on the Cabinet level, where as it isn't allowed regionally. I ask this because the Amendment itself is pretty vague, and I think it would probably be best to fix it, or close loop holes before it gets any further.

I wasn't aware of this. Isn't dual office-holding already prohibited by the Constitution?

Here's an attempt at closing loopholes:
Quote
The Fair Compliance Amendment
Article I, Section VI of The Atlasian Constitution is amended to read:
The Senate shall make no law
not directly related to the office of the Senate and/or Regional office
that applies to the citizens of Atlasia that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Regional officers; and, the Senate shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Regional officers that does not apply equally to the citizens of Atlasia.

Is this an amendment? If so, it is friendly.

Can't this be currently construed as saying that every citizen is entitled to the same compensation as a Senator?

Not with TJ's amendment, I wouldn't think so.

I'd think not, the part that would seem to do so is the part TJ didn't amend:
Quote
the Senate shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Regional officers that does not apply equally to the citizens of Atlasia.

Then I shall amend:
Quote
The Fair Compliance Amendment
Article I, Section VI of The Atlasian Constitution is amended to read:
The Senate shall make no law
not directly related to the office of the Senate and/or Regional office

that applies to the Senators and/or Regional officers that does not apply equally to the citizens of Atlasia.
It is friendly.
This is the most confusing amendment I've ever read, now.
