First connected?.... Windows 95... and have had 98, XP, Vista and 7...

I honestly don't get the Vista hatred.... I think I hated the Office 2007/10 interface changes more.

Having never used it myself, I can only hazard to guess (based on second-hand accounts) that the main reason for the opprobrium is that Vista isn't as user-friendly as earlier versions.

I didn't like either - I'm still using Office 2003. Grin

I was on the internet before Windows95

Same here, I was on with Windows 3.1.  The first high speed internet I had was on 98 and that was a network full of long cables connected throughout the ceiling of the 2nd floor of the dormitory.  Bandwidth was terrible because one fellow constantly downloaded movies one right after the other.  Before then, it was all dial up.

XP for me. I've also used Vista, though the Vista computer was such a big upgrade over the XP computer that I can't even begin to compare their operating systems.
