Beppe Grillo, an Italian comedian-turned-politician who now leads
what might become Italy's second party
, has been sentenced for culpable homicide following a road accident back in his youth.

Ayn Rand had a really creepy obsession with the brutal killer of a 12-year old girl. (Probably common knowledge round here, but still...)
She was also a germophobe, and terrified of going to Europe (as the KGB could get her).

Ayn Rand's name is an anagram for Dan Yarn.

In the UK, 18.5 million watched Dennis Taylor defeat Steve Davis on the final black in the final frame of the 1985 World Championship snooker final at 12:23AM. 18.5 million is about a third of the UK population.

Bristol, CT has a Main Street and a North Main Street. The two north-south streets are parallel, with Main running one city block east of North Main. The two streets do not intersect.

There are a handful of constituencies which the Socialist Party won in 1993, when it won 60 or so seats out of 577 which it did not win in 2007, when it won about 190 seats out of 577. Similarly, I count 2 seats which voted PS in 1993 but not in 1997.

New Jersey is actually not named after the island of Jersey in the English Channel, but after the item of clothing you will need to purchase after vomiting upon entry to the state.

My city hasn't been hit by a hurricane (ie: beyond flooding/power outages) since 1921. The reasons have been thought to include divine protection (from the St. in St. Petersburg) and a spirit of goodwill left behind by the Tocobagas.

What's so surprising ? It is quite common for people who hold insane views to be insane themselves.

The dictator of Equatorial Guinea had 150 opponents of the regime executed while his military band played
this song
on Christmas Day, 1975.
