Then the 13 year old talks trash and the cop suddenly goes Rodney King on the kid. This marks the revenge for the 13 year old. On that Monday, two days later after the cop brutality treatment of the 13 year old, the 13 year old swiftly stabs a cop right in the stomach four minutes before school started. The cop dies afterwards and the 13 year old is arrested for assaulted murder of a police officer.

Answered the poll without reading the thread.

If it had been murder, then the death penalty (and not because the victim was a cop).

However, what was described in the thread doesn't meet any reasonable standard for murder for adults, let alone juveniles.  It's also unclear whether the cop he stabbed was the same who went Rodney Duke on him.  (Since the kid was able to go to school two days later, it appears what he suffered doesn't rank high enough to be called a King.)  At most 20 years, at minimum juvenile detention until he graduates high school or is 21, whichever comes first.

Oh, well now that you spelled out the circumstances of the crime I would have voted rehabilitation.  Would have been nice if you had this in your opening post.

You can't "murder" somebody in self defense and you can't play the self defense card two days after the fact (with a few exceptions and this ain't one of 'em).  Of the options listed, I vote 50 years (but not a "hard" 50...the kind of 50 that gets you out in 7.5 years of "good behavior"...plus, this kid is a cop killer....at 13....with a knife kill...he is going to be god in juvy)
