Missouri has become more southernized, and in the last three elections it voted for the popular vote loser twice. Thus, I'd say
red state
.

I'd consider it a battleground state, along the same lines as Michigan or Pennsylvania- on paper, they look competitive or even like tossups, but they virtually always side with one particular party. I think the dems will continue to spend resources to try to win Missouri, but absent a major, unexpected demographic shift Missouri will probably vote Republican in the next few elections (barring a landslide for democrats).

Clearly a Republican leaning swing state, but as its not completely safe yet (give it 10 more years)I put it as a battleground state.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm praying for another black-yellow majority, and for the SPD to get shattered. It's exactly what it deserves.
