According to Wikipedia, La Plata has an area of 4,403 km2 and a population of 51,334. It also does not have a municipality/CDP known as La Plata.
Believe that his La Plata is the La Plata, Charles County, Maryland.

Makes a bit more sense, but isn't the county supposed to be specified?

I meant the Republic of La Plata because I didn't like the name, Republic of Charles, I meant more of Charles County as a whole.
