Yes, Amendment 49:34 does include the financial transaction tax with a top tax rate of 50% and the rate reductions on the bottom two brackets. That is what I support.

Nay on Amendment 49:36.

Aye, I'll introduce a new amendment just giving the tax cuts to the lower brackets.

Ah, didn't we just pass this amendment by you?

Yes, I declared it passed right here. ^

I said before, that the 49:36 was waiting to be voted on because Kalwejt hadn't declared 49:34 as having passed. When I took back over the Senate, I declared 49:34 as passed and then started a vote on 49:36.

Can't we cut something from somewhere other than military spending? Try cutting domestic for once.

Is there a chance ya'll would be willing to humor me by including in amendment-proposing posts a list either at the posts' beginnings or ends detailing what is being changed from what to what? I simply ask because it seems very confusing to me what the state of the budget is at any given time and what in particular amendments are aiming to change. To be honest, am not even sure what I've been voting either for or against since entering this thread.

To our GM/SoEA/Amendment Sponsor:

How would the proposed military budget cuts affect our operations?

This is becoming a time waster. Either create a budget slot, pass this damn thing as is, or take up your pet issues in their own bills. Two months is long enough.

When does the previous budget expire, anyway?  Are we in government shutdown mode, yet? Tongue

I deem these cuts perfectly fine without damaging or operations.  I hope I have the credibility to propose these cuts.

If you are going to cut the military budget, why not take it from the Afghanistan operations, since we only have a training force there now that will be gone in two months?

I think this budget process was a bit of a mess from the start since the changes from the current budget and current laws were never specified in the introduced text.  There are several programs passed in the past few sessions, for instance, that are completely unfunded by this budget and there has been no discussion about this.

The old stuff is being struck out like this: 426.

I wish we would also bold the new stuff like so, which would help: 262

These numbers are fakes to provide examples.

Ben, you need to update the text to reflect the passage of Amendment 49:34. It can be viewed a few posts up from the post you made with your amendment here. Otherwise, this amendment will repeal that.

This is becoming a time waster. Either create a budget slot, pass this damn thing as is, or take up your pet issues in their own bills. Two months is long enough.

There will be several other slots opening up soon and this is actually being debated unlike some things. If there is something you want expedited, I have places I can move this one too to open the executive slot.

Sorry, I'm at a debate camp and I don't have time to check all the numbers.  Therefore, I withdraw my amendment.
