Its food stamps and housing assistance. I don't know what you can cut from that unless you want to cut people out of the programs but I think that would need a separate bill.

If we can get Atlasia back to work, assitance will go down and maybe we can really balance the budget in the next few years.

I agree but the overall economic uncertainty is not fully under our control, with what's going on over in Europe causing major disruptions.

Uh, the President presents a decent budget and you guys want to nuke his efforts by adding a heap of wasteful spending? I encourage the Senators representing me (and the rest of you Tongue ) to vote against these unnecessary amendments. I see Ben continues his  approach of offering no substantive reasons for anything he does while demanding that others explain their reasons for opposing. 5 infraction points for trolling to you Senator.

Which is a 50% increase to the current projected deficit notwithstanding the optimistic revenue projections. I haven't heard anyone explain why this extra spending is necessary or what it will be used on. What is so important that the original budget didn't include?

64% of that increase in net spending is the result of the current amendment at vote, 49:19.
Yes, the amendment I oppose.

I'd like to see the changes from the last budget.

Also, Shua, that reminds me that I am going to need your help with the regional budget when you get a chance. Wink

It's worth noting that the DoEA and other Senators aren't proposing amendments without offering any explanations and then demanding explanations from others.

If so, please don't attack me for refusing to explain myself Smiley

I am simply pointing out hypocrisy when I see it.

Senator TJ...

Are you proposing increasing taxes on lower and middle-income people to give the wealthy a cut?

Can we increase the health spending at least back by half of what was cut? Do you guys really think that a 20-25% cut to healthcare spending will go over well?

This reflects a previous cut, it isnt a new adjustment.

This is becoming a time waster. Either create a budget slot, pass this damn thing as is, or take up your pet issues in their own bills. Two months is long enough.

Shua I might have to veto this and redraft it so let's talk about what programs are missing.

So? I think it's pretty, and if you try and stop me from letting the world know, just know that you can't!

I can. Have fun in the FEMA camp!

I think we should use some of the surplus to place a Slip and Slide in the FEMA camps, to entertain our imprisoned official.
