oh boy, looks like confusion about what's being debated really is a problem . . .
There is no confusion, most future veterans will come from poor & minority backgrounds. I am sure wormy perfectly knows this, while this went over your head.

33 billion is spent for highways, gas tax at 12c only brings in 20 billion, I don't think we should be subsidizing them.

Friendly on 49:22, unfriendly on 49:21 and 49:23.

I've got a tax Amendment dealing with corporate rates and income which will add at least $50B, so if we could please hold off on income and corporate rates until then, it'd be much appreciated.
Ok we'll proceed with 49:22 and I'll wait on 49:21, and 23 is your child(so you specified the sponsor of the amendment incorrectly Yankee). Does this count as sufficient response?

I can't support those upper-end tax increases... I understand the desire, but no, can't support that at all.
Would you support a trading/transaction tax then?

Without further clarification as to Seatown's intent, I would prefer not to move forward.
Move forward, the new amendment is intentionally different.

Seriously? I proposed a very moderate amendment, the one that only taxes the harmful activities by the rich. It's really unfair for Atlasians to lose services when the rich are getting a tax cut.

You're characterizing financial transactions as "harmful activities"?
Speculation is  a harmful activity.

So your solution is to drive the little guy out of the stock market?
It's a % tax not a flat tax... The idea is to curb Wall Street.

In cases like this, we should let the post self-ridicule, and abstain from further posts to let the hilarity sink in.

Can we increase the health spending at least back by half of what was cut? Do you guys really think that a 20-25% cut to healthcare spending will go over well?

Is that $117 billion how much the amendment adds to revenue after considering the net affect of the changes within the amendment?
Yes, I'll find the Wikipedia link in a bit.

Aye, I'll introduce a new amendment just giving the tax cuts to the lower brackets.
