Yes, Alan Simpson is my favorite Senator serving during the period in which I have had sentience - bar none. He just does it my way. Tongue

I am not sure jmfcst even knows my views on abortion. Just because you "love" gays, doesn't mean ipso facto that you "hate" all fetuses. Just a thought. Tongue

The day I "ally" with "retired persons" is the day that you know that the demons have possessed me, and it is time to put me down. In other news, I am not "retired" nor eligible for SS - yet. Can't you wait another friggin' year or so before dumping me into the geezer pile?

Alan Simpson has a history of being a complete asshole, but he has a history of being an entertaining asshole who doesn't seem to be out of his gourd or stupid. Approved.

Nitpick: The deficit commision never actually published an official report. The document Simpsons' referring to was a proposal written by him and Bowles (well, their staff), and didn't get the approval of the other members.

The proposal received an affirmative and bipartisan vote of a majority of the members of the Commission, just not the requisite super majority.

Yep, Simpson is still one of the bad guys but he's at least he can be amusing occasionally.
