Very interesting. I realise how charming are HSBC, Wachowia or Barclays. Quoting Martin Woods:

"These are the proceeds of murder and misery in Mexico, and of drugs sold around the world. But no one goes to jail. What does the settlement do to fight the cartels? Nothing. It encourages the cartels and anyone who wants to make money by laundering their blood dollars."

What can do honest officials in fighting this? Nothing. What can do politicians about the regulation of the financial markets and activities? Simply, there's no willing of doing such things. Steal a lot and you'll reach heaven on earth.
