I took this personality test in middle school and I was INTP. In high school, I was an ENTJ. I took this test a year ago and I was ENTP (but I do remember that the T and F was almost perfectly equal). Interesting to see how my personality has changed as I've matured!

It's not really supposed to change. This particular test is rather short and would be more likely to change results as your view of yourself changes over time. You might straddle two types like the ENTJ and ENTP, though I doubt you were ever actually an INTP given your extravert score. Perhaps you were just shy back in middle school? (extraverts can be shy - that has more to do with social anxiety than social preference)

I'm thinking I messed up on this test. Outwardly, I'm not very warm or affectionate and I'm not intuitive in the slightest. Why does this test think that having the ability to empathize with people means that you're some sort of loving therapist?

Aspects of this personality type definitely fit me: I shed acquaintances rapidly, I'm able to become friends with anyone who sits near me in class, people can be drawn to me/respect me instantly. I don't think any of this is deserved, I'm just really outgoing and witty I guess? "And the less mature ENFP may need to feel they’re the constant center of attention, to confirm their image of themselves as a wonderful and fascinating person." That more or less sums me up hahaha.

For careers its suggest, Automotive repair, computer repair, Electronics tech, aviation tech and engineering.....which are all things I enjoy and has been my employment since 1994 and what the USAF suggested I go into as well.  And the first paragraph of the description says

Yes, yes YES, oh God yes.  Sit around on my ass until something needs to be done, then I go do it as fast as I can...mainly so I can go back to sitting on my ass.  And nobody understands me.  Then the next paragraph explains why my relationships with friends and family is often......not perfect.....

All true.  Though I'm a bit of a pussy, so while I'd LOVE to race motor vehicles or fly, I don't.  And I'm normally good under pressure, there has been at least a time or two that I've had serious anxiety in the middle of it....still able to do what I was supposed to be doing, but I was physically shaking the entire time.

Yeah, I was extremely shy in middle school; lifelong anxiety issues. As for the rest of the changes, I've only through therapy in the last year really ever began understanding and trusting emotions outside of a rational context, so I can definitely understand the shift from T to F there.

Some days I think I'm the only ES on the Internet.  Me and Napoleon, apparently.

INFJ. The first two preferences are very strong, the last is the weakest.
