Recently I found this great blog that does a comprehensive review of possible Presidential candidates for 2008.  He updates the rankings every month or so and if you ask me they are fairly accuratley as of right now.  He bases most of his rankings from polls, but uses some speculation when putting the rankings together.  As of right now the 3 candidates above are the top 3 candidates for 2008.

New Years Rankings (Republicans):  http://primary2008.typepad.com/presidentail_primaries_20/the_republican_rankings/index.html

If you make a map use this color key:

BLUE  -  Rudy Giuliani

RED -  John McCain

GREY  -  Bill Frist

By the way, assume all candidates stay until the end of the primaries.

I support Frist because he is the conservative candidate among the three. Plus, Giuliani and McCain won't be candidates in 2008.

I agree that McCain and Giuliani probably wont be candidates in 2008 or at least not very good ones.  But this site is going by polls and specualtion.  Considering those 2 factors as of right now they are the top 3 candidates.  The same goes for his democratic rankings.  He keeps the blog up to date and does new rankings every month or so.

Why couldn't you do the top 4 candidates? Rick Santorum is listed as #4.   Smiley

LOL, he will probably move up into the top 3 when the new rankings come out.  I cant see McCain actually running he is just to old.

And Giuliani's last elected position was Mayor. Now Giuliani is one of my political idols (not on social issues) but fans of his have to admit that you can't go from Mayor to President, even if you were Mayor of the largest city in the country. It's just not enough experience.

Seems like Frist would win the nomination if it were held today.
