Hipster religions

Is it possible to create hipster versions of all religions or are some unfit?

Have you for instance ever met any hipster Muslims? Somehow I have a hard time imagining the hipster version of Islam, but I am sure it exists out there somewhere

I was inspired by this dialogue in the Buddhism discussion.

Western Buddhism is very much an artificial, sanitized product that has very little to do with Buddhism as practiced in Asia, particularly Mahayana Buddhism, filled as it is with Chinese Gods, dozens of hells, and Bodhisattvas with comic-book superhero powers.

This. I cringe every time I see well-to-do white hipsters try to engage in meditation or discuss the dharma, or talk about the Eight Noble Plaths and Four Noble Truths. Most religions are also ways of life whether you like it or not.

Everyone invents their own god. So why cringe?

Because well-to-do white hipsters have crappy taste in gods.

What about the ones at my church?

Hipster Jesus is arguably a lot more similar to His non-hipster equivalent[/s] than hipster Buddhism is to non-hipster Buddhism.

I'm not sure about hipster Islam as such but there definitely exist people who are at once notably hipster and notably Muslim. Hipster Islam with the Islam itself being hipster would probably look vaguely like Sufi, yeah.

It's more hippie than hipster, generation-wise, but the Dances of Universal Peace were moderately noteworthy in the 1960's counterculture and retain a certain following today.

Hipster Hinduism? Hipster Baha'i? Hipster Judiasm? Hipster Sikhism? Hipster Juche?  Hipster Scientology? Hipster Jainism? Hipster Chinese Traditional? Hipster African Traditional? Hipster Paganism? Hipster paganism and hipster atheism certainly exists. Hipster Juche obviously don't. Many Jews are hipsters, but I am unsure of Judaism itself. Same goes for Baha'i.

The rest is unclear to me.
