After 9 days of deliberations the jury has reached a verdict.  We're waiting on the official decision to be announced.

9 days? He'll be acquitted on at least some charges.

My guess is a hung jury.

We have a verdict on just ONE count.  Count 3.  We don't know which way, though.  The prosecution wants them to go back and decide the other 5 counts, but the defense wants a mistrial on the remaining 5 counts.  The judge is taking a 5-minute recess to decide.  Jeffrey Toobin of CNN called this a "mess".

It looks like the judge is siding with the prosecution and ordering the jury to go back into deliberation.

If I were a juror I would pipe up and say that there is no way I am changing my mind, 9 days is enough, and what you are doing is cruel and unusual and I object to what you are doing. The judge I think is out of line here. Trying to coerce a verdict does not sit well with me.

High School legal studies, I wrote an essay rubbishing the idea of un-knowledgeable juries... and called for a number of expert juries who actually know what they're talking about, depending on the evidence in the case...

If it's good enough for the Oscars, it's good enough for the legal system...

Acquittal on one charge and mistrial on the remainder...

Actually I favor juries for serious criminal cases, which this probably qualifies as.

How many Senators wouldn't be guilty of that?
