I've never seen so little buzz about a penalty.
Because it was legit.
No, I'm not talking about disputing it, but none of the players even changed their facial expression, and the commentators kept talking in their usual voice.
Well, it's the 90th minute and the game is won anyways. No bother. If that had been the 2-1 or 2-2, it
would
be considered controversial.
Well, the ball quite clearly hit his hand and he wasn't attempting to pull it away so I don't think it would have been that controversial.

While I believe this has been a great, exciting tournament and Poland and Ukraine have proven me wrong for the most part, I have to laugh at the Euro's official fan page on Facebook. They posted a story about "stunning stats" with the opening paragraph citing "full stadiums." Is that a joke?
Apparently England vs. Italy had the biggest audience ever for a Euro Quarter final. More people in England watched it than watched Prince Williams's Wedding and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert.

I'm rooting for Portugal, actually. Spain has won enough in these last years, and for what I've seen they are clearly below their past levels.

I'm also rooting for Portugal, because Spain are a painfully dull football team. Also I've got a feeling this one is going to penalties (although knowing my luck it won't go to injury time)

Spain are the worst team in the world to watch. Passing it around and waiting, even when they get a corner.

Exciting game. Although the Spanish are just...not fun to watch.
I'll support the winner of Italy/Germany in the final no matter what.

I didn't watch any of the matches in this cup so far, but for those who have followed all/most of them, hasn't this been a fairly boring cup overall? I mean, it's quite disappointing/boring to have only the old powerhouses in the finals, when it would have been nice to see countries like Russia (or Greece...
) go further.

I thought the pool stages were really good (especially England's pool), but the knockouts have been awful:
Germany-Greece: Only one team playing footy.
Czech-Portugal: Not bad, but not a great game. Ronaldo the only thing to keep my eyes on the television.
France-Spain: France didn't deserve to share the same pitch as Spain.
Italy-England: Just terrible quality.
Portugal-Spain: Worst game of the tournament.

That's the good thing about this tournament.
Especially the Greek bulls**t not happening again.

Boring? I think it's been exciting* even if the traditional power domination isn't your thing.
*With a few exceptions. Today is an example though the first half seemed mine.

I used to be one of those people that rooted for underdog, small teams to get through.
But those teams usually play boring, bad football that isn't very fun to watch. So now I just want the best teams (and Germany if they're not among them) to get through.

I dunno, I've always viewed Spain as an insufferably boring team (from the perspective of an ignorant American). 2008 Euro Final and 2010 WCF were snoozefests. But non-powerhouses Turkey and Croatia put on quite the show four years ago, no?

They did. Turkey was really the most exciting team of the 2008 tournament with all of those comebacks. I still didn't root for them though.
