Not necessarily. It's true that it's going to be easier for him than Romney, but he's not invincible.

I'd give him a 98% chance at this point.

No. Too many factors are against him this time. Although they're was a lot of issues in 2004 that were against Bush but he still won.

I'd give him a 60-70% chance.

No one ever wins "no matter what", unless their opponent is either a nutty extremist or clearly incompetent and Romney is neither of those things.

No. At this point it's a toss-up and will be throughout the summer and maybe even until election day.

"No matter what"? That's a bit steep.

It's a 50-50 election, but I give the edge to Romney.

Yep. Candidates don't usually win re-election with these numbers, and Obama's going to have a hard time recovering if he's humiliated by the Supreme Court and in Wisconsin this month.

His only options are essentially to take his licks and look weak, or get aggressive and declare war on the SC, turning off independents. Rock and hard place.

It's more likely than not that he wins re-election considering the opposition.

Of course not. All else equal, he's obviously a better candidate than Romney, but he's still the incumbent, and we're possibly on the verge of a double dip recession.

I donīt understimate the power of conservatives in the USA. Mitt Romney is not Santorum nor Gingricht. In Europe we always see most of Republicans like unelegible persons but people there usually think in another ways.  Iīm pretty sure that Obama will have to face troubles. I see the chances 55-45 in favour of Obama, or so.

The United States isn't on the verge of a double-dip recession, FWIW. Growth is slowing, alarmingly so, but that's not the same thing. The leading indicators generally haven't supported that call, although the jobs report was obviously terrible.

It's worth noting that (IIRC) even if a recession does being in the next month or so it'll still be too late for the ECRI to have been right, so... Tongue

Obviously, no.

Anyone who thinks Obama will win "NO MATTER WHAT" is either delusional or a hopeless Democrat hack.

Chris Matthews, a big Obama booster by the way, was right.

A few more Sundays like this and Obama won't make it past August.

I genuinely pity them. Just as I pity certain delusional Republican hacks on this site (it would be rude to point out which ones), that believes Romney will win no matter what Smiley

Well, no, of course not. What does that even mean?

He's the favourite, certainly, and I'd put money on him winning (even with those unfortunate jobs numbers), but Romney will probably win if Obama eats a baby on live television or something.

Sorry Oakvale, bad jobs numbers, and Obama loses.

It's early May. A lot of things can change either way. To say either one of the candidates will win no matter what is idiotic.
