After discovering it was on Netflix Watch Instantly, I decided to try watching it last night to see how far I could make it into an episode. I made it only 8 minutes. It was the most repetitive mind-numbing nonsense I've ever seen. What's with Dora talking to the viewer and asking us to say things and all that? And you can stop Swiper just by saying "Swiper no swiping"? What the hell? Then the introduction to the map which was a song that was basically just him singing "I'm a map!" over and over. This is seriously the dumbest and most pointless show EVER. Horrible Cartoon.

You're just finding about this, Red? Even after all the "Dora is an illegal immigrant" jokes?

Go easy on him.  We each deal with our late-20's crises in different ways.

It was the most repetitive mind-numbing nonsense I've ever seen.
Children appreciate repetitive mind-numbing nonsense.

Quote
What's with Dora talking to the viewer and asking us to say things and all that?
That is repetition; it is intended to help the children learn basic Spanish phrases.

Quote
And you can stop Swiper just by saying "Swiper no swiping"?
What did you expect them to do, shoot him? It's a G-rated show intended for 3-year-olds; saying "Swiper no swiping" is the most violent it can be.

Quote
Then the introduction to the map which was a song that was basically just him singing "I'm a map!" over and over.
Children find this amusing.

You probably expected a cartoon in the same degree as "Family Guy", right? Well it's common knowledge that it's a kids show to help them learn a li'l bit of Spanish. For God's sake man.

It's pretty hard to watch, but there are some worse children's shows I have watched. I prefer Jennifer watching Canadian kids shows. Not much use in watching a show that teaches Spanish when I'd prefer her to learn French.

Guys, Dora the Explorer is literally a show for 2-3 year olds. It's like if someone made a thread on here complaining about wearing diapers or drinking out of sippy cups or going to daycare.

The author of this thread is correct. You would have to be a child to enjoy this show.

Or like if somebody made a thread dedicated entirely to their opinions on another children's show, say something like "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" or some such thing.

TBF, they're completely different shows. MLP: FiM is one of the few kids' cartoons that doesn't treat the audience like retards (also, the target audience is like 7-12)

What do you mean? Animated? Educational (which MLP isn't other than the morals they had to stick on to be legally counted as educational programming)?
