What a mature poster! But he was a very fine, intelligent and reasoned poster, and it's our fault that we pushed him out and yaddi yadda.

Yes, I really didn't get the hype about him.

He was the one concerned with party samples on the 2012 polling board. His contributions were interesting and informative, and its sad to lose yet another right of center poster.

Part of the maturation process is learning how to effectively deal with this sort of thing, while retaining your sangfroid. It can be done. And this is an excellent forum really for gaining those skills. We have a lot of excellent role models I think. I really think most of our young people benefit from their time spent here, which is very gratifying to me.

Well, I just took a look on the dude's history and if you are considering him interesting and informative, then he was surely a worthless troll. Case closed.

A bit of clarification: I meant that he was informative on the polling board. There has never been enough in-depth analysis of the crosstabs of polls and that's definately something he brought more of. Outside of that sure he was a bit hackish but I can think of less then a dozen people here who aren't at times total hacks. And really, troll is thrown about with way too much frequency these days.

As I've already said, it wasn't the crosstab stuff that bothered me personally (in fact, those posts of his were actually sort of useful), it was his character.

Damn. Anyone know how we can get ahold of his TLs. Those were some of the best on the forum

The Sharpest Contrast: Right vs Left, should be on althistory. Unfortunately, I think 1988 might be gone forever, and that was his magnum opus.

His poll analysis, while annoying, wasn't the reason people disliked him. It was his sore winner attitude on the Wisconsin Recall threads, debating style that consisted of poisoning the well, and inability to take criticism (whether it be on how polls work or a FF/HP thread).

And that is what I will miss the most of all that he has contributed here.  Sad

I liked his TLs, but he was really annoying in other boards... He'll be missed, however.
